Last week, I went to my first field trip! I went to the Outdoor Learning Center in a yellow school bus. On the school bus, I sat on the left side, and I was so excited that I couldn't stay still, but I have to because my teacher didn't allow us to move around.
At the center I went into a forest on a trail. We saw a tree with a hole in it. I learnt that it was the home of some animal. Teachers told us that different sizes of holes belong to different animals.
We did a fun activity together later. We put a hula-hoop on the ground. I dug in the middle of it and I found a snail shell.
Our teacher asked us to partner up with another friend, then I went into the Outdoor Learning Center with my partner. We learnt safety rules inside the building.
We also did another activity. I like to call it "How to make soil?" We learned how to make soil in several steps:
First, we got an empty bottle, we opened up the cap, this is the step to add air.
Then, we added 6 spoons of water.
We added organic materials such as leaves, branches, dirt and other small stuff we found on the ground,
Last step will take the longest, wait for 500 years for this mix to become soil.
On the way back to school, I was sitting on the right side of the school bus, I was a bit tired, but I still wanted to play more.
