Boxcar Children -- My Own Version

One beautiful day, the five Boxcar children were walking down a road in an old, torn-down neighborhood. They were looking for a house where they could live and use things that were left behind. The oldest was Henry, then Jessie, then Violet, and Teagan and Benny. They all were on their own ever since their parents died.

"Hey! look!" Jessie cried.

"There is an old man waving at us!" They all walked toward the old man.

"Hello! Yes, yes, come in please." The old man croaked. "You all may be my workers in my wonderful shop. Everyday, I will give you a special prize in exchange."

Henry said, "Yes, we accept your offer."

After one week, the Boxcar children became tired and lonesome of the place. Everyday, they only got a kettle, ladle, or a bundle of wood as their prizes.

Sure! These things were special to the Boxcar children, but the only time they were actually delighted was their first little prize.

"Oh, how I wish we could make delicious food out of the kettle and ladle." Said Teagan.

"Let's just ask him if we can go to our grandparents house. I know where they live." cried Benny.

They all agreed.

The children all walked up towards the old man's house, "Mr. Seller, we are leaving. May we go to  our grandparents' house?"

Once Violet said that, the old man got extremely mad. He didn't allow them to go at all. Jessie suggested at night that they could go out of the window and run. Everybody agreed.

One by one they climbed out of the window and ran to their grandparents' house, which was quite near.

Ever since then, the five Boxcar children lived happily ever after.
