Birds Are Good Builders - Birds' Nests

Bird nest from Amazon!
Today when we drove out in the car, I saw a bird pulling at pieces of grass and weeds with her beak to make a nest. Birds only make nests if they are about to make a baby.

It is usually the mom and dad who make the nest together. They need to choose the right location and materials to build their nest. The nest has to be strong, stable and not too flat in order to keep their baby safe.

One day, I  saw a baby bird fall from a tree into the grass of my front yard. I guess the nest was too  small and the baby bird fell out. My mom and I put the baby bird on a bush and the mama bird was hovering above helplessly. I could tell she was sad because she was chirping sadly for long time. I am pretty sure the mama bird will build a better nest nest time she builds one.

However, most birds are good builders by instinct. Birds use most of the best materials to build their nest. Usually they use things like straw, grass and twigs. Birds nests are mostly made in spring or maybe even at the end of winter.

Birds can make tiny nests or 'nests that are even bigger than a tree. A type of bird once made a nest so huge up a tree that the tree actually fell down!

Birds can sometimes be powerful animals!
